PF Chronicle

About

PF Chronicle is a publication of PressFriends Inc., which is an all-volunteer nonprofit founded by kids for kids in 2008. Since 2008, PressFriends Inc. has trained over 600 middle and high school volunteers and mentored 3,000 underserved elementary students.  PressFriends is student-led with the mentoring programs run by a High School Advisory Board and a Middle School Advisory Council, and the program structure and long term planning strategy handled by a College Advisory Board.

PF Chronicle includes articles from our current publications.  In 2016-2017, our programs include the Seventh Street Sailor (7th Street Elementary, San Pedro), Lomita Leopard’s Roar (Lomita Math/Science/Technology Magnet),  Dolphin Times (Anderson Elementary, Lawndale), Foshay Flash (Foshay Learning Center, South LA), Dragon Tales (Leland Elementary), USC Kids News (USC Good Neighbors Program, South LA), CMA Kids News (Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, San Pedro), and Lawndale Kids News (County of Los Angeles Public Library, Lawndale).

However, PF Chronicle was created to provide all elementary students with an opportunity to be published.  Elementary students can submit their articles for consideration (go the the “Submissions” tab for information).

PressFriends is a duly registered public charity exempt from federal income taxation under sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code.
